Morrigan’s Pit Review   by Hans Van Pruissen    Oct 8th 2006

WHOAAA!!!! The name is Laki Ragazas, and this dude really knows how to handle a guitar!
My first thought was "oh, another shredder who wants the world to show how fast he is".
I couldn't have been more wrong. Laki is a self-tought player based in Thessaloniki, Greece,
who has earned himself two scholarships in the USA, one of which was at the Atlanta Institute
of Music, in collaboration with Jason Becker. After that, Laki played for 8 years in a Greek band
called Long Live, and I guess 2006 was the right time for Laki to show us his skills.

Ladies and gentlemen: Laki has the skills!! On this 8-track cd, Laki takes us on a musical journey,
from hardrock and shredding to blues, funk and even a ballad. Playing the cd with a good friend of
mine, the influences emerged one by one: some Schenker, some Gary Moore, some Zakk Wylde,
some Rhandy Rhoads. Laki studied these masters thoroughly and really knows how to put emotion
into his playing and to really hit his strings hard, while avoiding to copy but remaining within his own
style of playing! Where lots of guitarist cds start to bore me after 10 minutes because of a lack of
versatility, I played track 1 to track 8 in one time.

This cd is not available through your local CD store and will be available for order directly from him
when he has set up a PayPal account. If you check out the samples on his webpage I am convinced
that Laki's mailbox will be filled with requests in no time so he has to start getting his PayPal act
together and start burning some CDs VERY soon.

I cannot mention any favourite track because they all are! Strangely enough, there hasn't been a
record company yet who discovered Laki's talents but in my honest opinion, this will be only a matter
of time. This guy has the potential to outgrow Vai, Malmsteen and Satriani in popularity! My rating
can not be other than the full one!
